Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ankoku Society (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit ankokusociety.com, sign up to our launch newsletter, or place an order once our store is live. We are the data controller for the information described below.
Who we are and how to contact us
Ankoku Society is an independent clothing and art brand. If you have any questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at enter@ankokusociety.com.
The information we collect
When you join our launch newsletter
- Your email address.
- Your consent to receive marketing emails, together with the date/time and technical details (such as IP address) kept as a record that you opted in.
When you place an order (once the store is live)
- Your name, billing and delivery address, email address and phone number.
- Order details and purchase history.
- Payment is processed securely by our payment providers — we do not store your full card details on our site.
When you browse the site
- Standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, and cookies necessary for the site to function. See “Cookies” below.
How we use your information and our lawful basis
- To send you launch updates and marketing — based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To process and deliver your orders — because it is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To run and secure our website and prevent fraud — based on our legitimate interests in operating the business.
- To meet legal and tax obligations — where required by law.
Who we share your information with
We only share personal data with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and never for their own marketing. These currently include:
- MailerLite — our email marketing platform, which stores your email address and manages your newsletter subscription.
- EasyWP / Namecheap — our website hosting provider.
- Payment providers — to process payments securely when the store is live.
- Fulfilment and shipping partners — to produce and deliver orders.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as recognised standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions, to protect your information.
How long we keep your information
- Newsletter data — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Order and transaction records — for as long as needed to fulfil your order and to meet legal/accounting requirements.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access a copy of your data; correct inaccurate data; ask us to delete it; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent to marketing at any time (every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link); and request portability of your data. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address above.
You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection regulator if you believe we have mishandled your data.
Cookies
Our site uses only the cookies needed for it to work and to remember your preferences. If we add analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
